Here's the first of a handful of recordings of songs we've been performing over the last six months. Give it a loud listen.
In other news, we've got a couple of shows lined up for spring, but in the meantime, we're hunkering down on writing a new batch of rad tunes and getting more shows on the books. Get into touch if you want us to rock a house party, funeral, bris, etc. We've had a lot of fun this past month. Thanks to everyone who came out to the shows. Check out photos from XO Lounge here (one pictured above) and videos from Kung Fu Necktie here (one featured below). In addition to playing our handful of new songs, we've been making an effort to vary our sets from show to show to keep your whiskers tingling. We'll be continuing this trend at our newly added show this Thursday, November 20th, at The Fire, playing the rest of our catalogue that hasn't seen the light the day in months. Check the Shows page for more details about that and our dates at Desmond's Tavern in NYC (12/20) and at Dobbs (1/10). We're coming out of our summer hibernation, tanned and hungry for pumpkin-flavored crap, for hecka shows, and for you to hear the handful of new songs we've been working on. We'll be at Kung Fu Necktie opening up for The Noise FM and Archie Powell & The Exports on October 21, at XO Lounge on November 7, and on December 20, we'll be playing New York City for the first time at Desmond's Tavern in Manhattan. There's a lot to be excited about for each gig, and hopefully, we'll be adding some more very soon. Check our Shows page for details.
The VERY OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO for our new track "Sunset in Harlem" is here, and we don't think it's an understatement to say that it should completely fill the void that Blurred Lines left in your hearts and in your loins after last summer. (Emily Ratajkowski wouldn't return our calls.) Enjoy it below before all the plebs see it on their MTVs and their V81s. It's here. The ripe and juicy, sweet but stanky fruit of our efforts in the studio. Bite into it below, but please don't choke on it...We want to see your beautiful faces at Dobbs on Saturday, July 19th and at Kung Fu Necktie on Wednesday, July 30th. We've got a couple shows coming up in July that we're really excited about. We'll be returning to Dobbs on Saturday, July 19 (the last time we were there was a goddamn blast), and we'll be making our debut at Kung Fu Necktie on Wednesday, July 30 with our friends Devil's Triangle. We've been wanting to play that stage for a while, so we're very much looking forward to that one, as well. Check out our Shows page for more info. Brian and I returned to Retro City Studios Monday night to finish up tracking guitars and vocals for our next song. It's an oldie, but what it lacks in freshness, it makes up for in funkiness. We'll have it mixed and streamlined directly into your earholes soon enough. Post by Gene Wildest. We've been busy this month, and we have pictures to prove it! But seriously, check out our Photos page for some good shots of our show at Voltage Lounge on May 10th and our first night of studio time last week at Retro City Studios. Ben and Eric expertly turned in drums and bass for the track, so Brian and I will be returning on June 2nd to try to wrap the song up with guitar and vocals. In other words, we have less than two weeks to learn how to play guitar and sing. Wish us luck! In the meantime, check out the videos below from some of our Voltage Lounge set, if you're so inclined. Not included: The more-than-underwhelming twerking contest that took place on that very same stage mere minutes later. Riding the wave of tonight's ultra rainy weather, check out our newest song below. It's chill. It's waves. It's not chillwave. But it is the first to feature Eric on bass. On May 15th, we'll be entering Retro City Studios in Manayunk, and, if all things go well, in the wee hours of May 16th, we'll be leaving with a fully tracked song. This will be the first time Gene Wildest has recorded professionally, so we're looking forward to it. We've narrowed down our song selection to either an original that we've been performing live but have yet to record or a tasteful cover of "Summertime is Great" by the venerable Three Beat Slide. I think the choice is obvious. |
