Future Flowers has arrived! Give it a listen on your favorite streaming app or buy a physical copy at our store along with some new t-shirts. Or just come see us May 23rd at Johnny Brenda's where we'll be celebrating its release!
Hey guys, some bad news then some great news. Bad news: Our album release show at MilkBoy was canceled due to venue construction to fix some structural issues. (We assume they’re afraid we’d bring the house down) Great news: The album will still be released on all streaming platforms on April 18th as planned AND we’ll now be making our debut at Johnny Brenda's on May 23 to celebrate its release, with new CDs and shirts in tow. We’re pumped. Get your tickets here!
Our second album Spectral Terrestrial is now available for streaming and pre-order over at Bandcamp (stream embedded below). A bit heavier than anything we'd written before or may write in the future, these songs are very much a purging of everything swirling around in our heads after losing Eric. Ruminations on life and loss, death and the beyond, confusion and acceptance, anger and peace, we hope you give these songs a listen. We'll be officially releasing the record with a show at Boot and Saddle on August 30th. We're excited for that one and will have more details soon. We love you guys and gals.
It's been a while! Let's catch up. We'll be at Ortlieb's in Philly on Friday, May 25th, playing songs off of our upcoming releases...the first of which will feature a song that we happened to make a music video for that you can watch right now, below. Of course, you will be able to watch an alien play guitar in it. And of course, we can't wait to see you all soon and share some new tunes. For anyone who didn't brave the cold last weekend, here are a couple videos from our Century Bar show. 'Sweetness To Tongue' is fresh out of the oven for you, and both of these doggies will very likely appear on the new album we're trying to get out to you guys early this year. We've got so much music we want to share with you, it'll be a fun challenge to choose the tracks. In the meantime, enjoy these live ones... We've got some freshies for ya! A new website, new photos (courtesy of Greg Howe), and we're working on a slew of new recordings to share with you. In the meantime, peruse the site, enjoy this video of us performing one of our new ones - Just Let Me Bleed - and buy your ticket to The Barbary show this Saturday night! We hope to see you there. Today marks one year without Eric. In his honor, we thought it'd be nice to finally share with you something that we've been working on for months. The last complete song Eric wrote was something really special in our eyes, with lyrics written as a hopeful message to his daughter Ella and with music composed as an ambitious orchestral movement at times. It was a song Eric was rightfully extremely proud of, and in the weeks before his passing, we'd finally worked out a full band arrangement that would allow us to perform it live at our next show. In fact, it was the last song we played together mere hours before he passed. With the help of his old friend and fellow musician and producer Stephen Piemonte, we were able to retrieve the master tracks of Eric's demo recording of the song and record and mix our full band arrangement around Eric's vocals and guitar. Ben even got a chance to record drums before he moved. Long story short, here's Eric's final musical gift to the world (and, more importantly, his daughter) in the form in which we'd hoped to one day share it with you live. We hope you'll find it as comforting as we do.
It pains us to have to say this, but Ben is leaving the band to move to Vancouver for bigger, better, more organic and bohemian things. He's been with us since the beginning, over four years ago, and he continues to humble us with his songwriting, as if his talent for drumming and plain ol' friendship weren't enough. We've still got a couple weeks left with him, and we're working on something special that we hope to be able to share with you soon. Thank you to everyone who helped to send him off at his final show with us at Bourbon & Branch last week. His move to the 'couv is bittersweet...We're going to miss him badly, but we're beyond grateful for the music we made together and, more importantly, for the friendship born out of it. Here are some videos of his farewell performance. Send him some love! Come join us Saturday, April 22 for a night paying tribute to Eric, enjoying live music, and lending a helping hand. For $30, you'll get unlimited food, domestic beer, and wine from 6 pm to 10 pm. The Not Fur Longs and Human Sounds are joining us on stage, and there will be auctions and raffles a plenty. Come celebrate the life of an awesome man, and help support his incredible family at the same time. We hope to see you there!
